Mike Brown: Director
New York-based Filmmaker Mike Brown was raised in the southern town of Petersburg, Virginia. As his father organized the local talent shows and his mother videotaped community events, Brown gained a fervent interest in the arts. Later, he left his hometown to live in the city, Boston and then Los Angeles, and travel abroad to Ghana, Europe, and the West Indies. While in Washington, DC, Brown helped operate an arts center for young males who lived in Lincoln Heights public housing. Also in DC, he attended Howard University and worked closely with filmmakers Bill Duke and Haile Gerima. Last year, in New Orleans, he worked on Spike Lee's documentary "When the Levee Broke." Inspired by his experiences, Brown works to create honest stories with characters as complex as the people he knows. Last spring, Brown finished his MFA coursework at New York University's Tisch School of Arts Graduate School of Film and Television. While there, Spike Lee and documentary filmmaker and producer Sam Pollard mentored him. Currently, Mike Brown is writing his first feature film, and working with Sean "Diddy" Combs newly launched Bad Boy Films.

Bradford Young: Cinematographer/DP
A native of Louisville, Kentucky Bradford Young has lensed an impressive amount of independent shorts, features, documentaries, commercials and music videos, including Mike Brown's short A Riot in the Dark. Starting out as a still photographer Bradford received his Bachelors of Arts and MFA from Howard University; were he was awarded, on numerous occasions, the prestigious Paul Robeson award for best cinematography. In 2002 Bradford was invited by IFP (Independent Feature Project) to participate in Project Involve for his achievements in cinematography. As a freelance documentary cinematographer Bradford has traveled extensively to countries that include, Cuba, Ethiopia, Haiti and he has just returned from Liberia documenting the return of one of its patriots after a 15-year exodus during that countries 25-year civil war. Recently Bradford wrapped on his third feature as Director of Photography titled Black Sheep, White Lies, directed by James Spooner (Afropunk), which is a mocumentary about race and identity in New York's various rock scenes. According to Bradford, "I see cinematography as an obsession to bring people's stories to life. In that respect my career exists in my exploration of filmmaking as an art form of uninhibited self-expression. Through film, I am not only expressing my own dilemmas and questions concerning the world around me, but constantly exploring a visual language that is unique to my world view. Thus, expanding and stretching the "frame", by photographing stories in motion usually forgotten and misplaced by those who determine what we see on the screen." Mr. Young has shot multiple Music videos for Rap artist Jim Jones and recently shot a project in Africa with Alicia Keys.
