Wolf Wigo, a New York City boy, aspires to become a member
of the U.S. Olympic Water Polo Team. But his high school
doesn't even have a swimming pool and there's never been a
player east of the Rocky Mountains. In addition, Wolf has a
severely damaged back and is in pain most of the time. Will he
overcome the geographcal and health problems to acheive his
lifelong dream? Through Wolf's story, viewers are treated to a
rare celebration of this rigorous and relatively unknown sport of
water polo played for the love of the game alone in this country
since it's not professional sport here. They will see the chisled
bodies of the most fit of all athletes and by the beauty of the
agressive and skillful actions of the best players in the world
competing in Europe, Australia, Asia, the Caribbean, and in the
USA. The documentary will show exciting action in the pool both
above and below the water illustrating that the players must be
able to swim up to 3 miles in a game, shoot the ball accurately
while resisting their opponents wrestling like opposition all
without a leg to stand on, literally , since they can't touch the
sides or bottom of the pool during play. This is an inspirational
film for competitors in any sport with a sense of brotherhood that
crosses politics, language and borders. The behind the scenes
look at his quest reveals an intriguing journey about
commitment,steadiness, caring and love.
